A colleague I work with has a signature set when he sends email from his phone.
“Sent from my iPhone, please excuse typos.”
No, I won’t.
It’s a disappointing symptom (or result?) of our always-on culture that people feel they have to respond to everything constantly, even while on the move.
But if you don’t have time to proof your two-sentence response to my email I’d rather wait until you can give it the time all of your communication deserves.
Typos happen – I’m just as guilty as anyone – but just because you’re using a mobile device doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be just as fastidious as when you’re sitting at your desk.
