Why YouTube search doesn’t matter
We all know about YouTube and how awesome it is.
We also know that’s it’s the world’s 2nd biggest search engine after Google. But that’s pure distraction from the key point about YouTube: it’s part of Google.
Try it: search Google for just about anything, in particular how-to queries, and you’ll get a bunch of website answers, but within the first page you’ll get a at least 2 or 3 results straight from YouTube.
That is why YouTube – and online video for your brand in general – matters: not because of the number of searches people do on the site itself, but the number of searches on Google which kick up YouTube results.
